Thomas F. Gummert, 77, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Sept.16, 2007, in his home.
He was born July 4, 1930, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of William and Gladys (Fields) Gummert. On Dec. 25, 1954, he was united in marriage to Carol Brown, who survives.
Additional survivors include; two sons, Timothy Gummert, of Cassville, and Scott Gummert of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother, Jerry Gummert, of Dunbar, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bunola Guttormson and a granddaughter, Jacey Gummert.
He received his education in Iowa where he lived most of his life. He served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army and was honorably discharged September 30, 1960. He worked for the Public School Transportation System as the head mechanic for 38 years. In 1990 he moved to Cassville to make his home. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Cassville.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Brad Lowrie conducted the services. Burial with Military Honors was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
