Orlette Voile "Jack" McFarland, 84, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, in Barry County Care Center, Cassville.
He was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Lehigh, Iowa, the son of Ward Earl and Bessie A. (Ricker) McFarland. On Nov. 25, 1946, in Pineville, he was united in marriage to Thelma Lou Jacobs, who survives.
Additional survivors include; two sons, Mark McFarland and his wife, Tamela, of Rocky Comfort, and Randy McFarland and his wife, Sandy, of Washburn; two daughters, Jackie Lou Patterson, of Stella, and Donna Studivan and her husband, Grover, of Cassville; one brother, Jay McFarland, of Rocky Comfort; one sister, Leola Sherod, of Bandon, Ore.; eleven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ted McFarland and two grandsons, Joseph Patterson and Trent McFarland.
He received his education in the Fox School House. During World War II he entered the United States Army serving from March 2, 1944, until June 2, 1945. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Stella. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
