Fall Baseball

• Eagles take three. The Purdy Eagles amassed three wins this week beating Crane 15-2, Wheaton 21-5 and Spokane 14-4. Derek Dailey, Josh Wiseman and Riley Veith picked up the pitching wins on the mound. Wiseman also helped Purdy at the plate totaling six hits this week with two runs, one walk, one double play and four RBI.

• Lady Trojans beat Wolves and Bears. The Southwest softball squad picked up another two wins this week with victories over Sarcoxie and Reeds Spring. The Lady Trojans used Haley Clifton on the mound to help them beat Reeds Spring 5-2 and also beat Sarcoxie 16-2. Kirstie Ickes led the team at the plate with three extra base hits and five RBI.

• Lack of offense hurts Wheaton. The Wheaton Lady Bulldogs could just not get their offense going this week against foe East Newton. The Patriots' pitcher struck out 17 Wheaton batters en route to a 2-0 Lady Patriot win.

• Lady Eagles can't match East Newton. The Lady Patriots shot down Purdy in a non-conference matchup 25-9, 25-13. The Lady Eagles were led by Chelsea Hance who had 19 assists and 18 points.

• Wheaton falls to Lady Tigers. The Lady Bulldogs couldn't make it two years in a row. After beating Neosho last year, the Lady Bulldogs hoped to repeat the feat but lost to the Lady Wildcats in straight sets. Neosho took the sets 25-11, 25-18.
