ALBERT F. RICE

Albert F. Rice, 81, of Monett, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Elsie, the son of the late Bill and Mary Dovie (Clevenger) Rice. He married Effie E. Shaffer on June 23, 1951, in Pierce City and she survives.

He was retired from the City of Monett where he was the sanitation department superintendent. He was a board member of the Church of Nazarene.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Albert E. Rice, of Verona, Tim D. Rice, of Purdy, and Jerry W. Rice, of Aurora; three daughters, Patricia E. Privett, of Butterfield, Linda J. Henderson, of Monett, and Vivian L. Lombard, of Monett; 29 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael J. Rice.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
