Cassville High School will host a public open house on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Typically, this open house is held for parents, but this fall, CHS Principal Brad Hanson is opening the event to the whole community.
"I'd like for members of the community to come view the additions and renovations to the high school facility," said Hanson.
These recent construction projects have been completed in the past year and include a 10,000-square-foot classroom addition, a new agricultural education and technology wing and renovations to existing space to create new classrooms for the high school's growing band and choir programs.
The classroom addition, which was added to the south end of the high school building, includes new classrooms, restrooms, a connecting hallway, and laboratory space.
The new ag and tech building was constructed east of the high school. The 12,250-square-foot wing encompasses two levels and provides expanded space for these two popular high school programs.
With agricultural and technology classes moving to a new facility, the district was able to renovate old classrooms into larger band and choir rooms. The old band and choir classrooms have been converted into additional classroom space.
"This open house will be a great opportunity to get the public inside the high school to see all the renovations and additions," said Hanson.
Parents are still encouraged to attend the open house to meet their students' teachers and become more familiar with the high school setting. For additional information, call the CHS office at 847-3137.
