The 23rd annual Hillbilly Golf Tournament was held this past week at the Cassville Golf Club.
The winning four-man team included Gary Fields, representing Security Bank, Chris Piatchek, representing Arning Industries, Rob Wadle, representing Kum & Go Stores, and Kim Kenney, representing Arning.
The second place team included the brother of one of the champions. Eric Fields, also representing Security Bank, was joined on the runner-up team by Roger McCray, of Justin Boots, Jeff Gardner, of Thorco, and Beau Hartley, of Hydro Wells.
The third place team included Ron Stafford, representing George's, Steve Rasnick, of Centurytel, Jim Stephens, of Les Jacobs Ford, and Tom Eckels, of Justin Boot.
The tournament is funded by local sponsors and is held each year as a show of appreciation for the industries and businesses who contribute to the local economy.
This year's sponsors included: Able 2, Arning, Bank of America, Barry Electric, Cassville Democrat, Cassville Industrial Development Corporation, Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce, Centurytel, City of Cassville, Commerce Bank, Fasco, Fastrip, First State Bank, Freedom Bank, George's, Hutchens Construction, Hydro Wells, John Waggoner, Justin Boot, Les Jacobs Ford, Luck E Strike, Missouri Gas Energy, Security Bank, Smith Clothing, Thorco, Willis Insurance, Allied Waste, All Points Recycling, Jersey's Sports Bar and Designs by Debbie.
All prizes were provided by Justin Boot.
The tournament is run and organized by the Hillbilly Committee. Members include Bob Allen, Randy Stockton, Mark Smith, Stan Kelley, Annette Henderson, Valarie Hutchens, Tracy Holle and Amy White.
White was also complimentary of Charlie Steward's help with the tournament.
