Phillip Eugene Brooks, Sr., 76, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at his home.

He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Cato, the son of Willis and Audra (Beshears) Brooks. On Dec. 16, 1982, he was united in marriage to Rose Mary White, who survives. Additional survivors include: a son, Phillip Brooks, Jr. and his wife, Cristy, of Exeter; a daughter, Jeannie Wilhite and her husband, Bill, of Exeter; a son, David White and his wife, Pam, of Exeter; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Brooks.

He received his education in Barry County. During the Korean War he served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until 1953. Most of his life was spent as an over the road truck driver, retiring in 1993.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Cassville, where funeral services were held Tuesday. Pastor Robert Day conducted the services. Burial with military honors was at Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.
