Michael Richard Sanders, 49, of Flagstaff, Ariz., passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1958, in Monett, the only son of Dick and Wanda Sanders. He graduated from Monett High School, where he participated in wrestling and football, and attended Missouri Southern State College in Joplin. He played little and pony League baseball and later coached his sons' teams in Arizona. He was an avid runner, hunter and adventurous traveler.
He was an employee of Arizona Public Service for 24 and one half years, and was a member and steward of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #387 and served as a delegate to the AFL-CIO state convention.
Survivors include: three sons, Ben, Joe and Paul of Flagstaff, Ariz.; his parents, Dick and Wanda Sanders, of Willard, formally of Cassville; two sisters, Nita (Dr. Andrew) Crighton, of Basking Ridge, N.J., and Willard, and Marsha (Richard) Tudor, of Birmingham, Ala.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Wesley Cemetery on Z Hwy., in Willard, under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
