Safe boating course offered

Thursday, July 5, 2007

The Shell Knob Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct a one-day Safe Boating Course on Saturday, July 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lower level of the Shell Knob Library.

The course is designed for people who are interested in the fundamentals of boating. The course will cover general boating information and maintenance, safe and comfortable boat operation, laws and regulations and courteous boater tips.

Completion of the Coast Guard Auxiliary's Safe Boating Course meets the boating educational requirements for Missouri and Arkansas. Many insurance companies provide discounts to graduates of the boating education course.

Individuals must pre-register for the course, which will be taught by experienced boaters from Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 55.

For pre-registration and more information, contact Mary Horvath at 417-858-2714
