Kia Xiong, 84, of Pierce City, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Cox-Monett Hospital, in Monett.

She was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Laos, the daughter of Shong Chai Xiong. She was united in marriage to Nhia Houa Yang, who survives. Additional survivors include: five sons, Joshoua Yang, of Sheboygan, Wis., Long Yang, of Seligman, Wa Yang, of Wheaton, Nhaoher Yang, of Pierce City and Tong Yang, of Wisconsin; one daughter, Sheng Yang, of Laos; four brothers, Cher Kao Xiong, of Wisconsin, Mao Xiong, of Minnesota, Za Xiong, of California and Lao Xiong, of Arkansas; two sisters, Mai Yia Xiong and Xia Xiong of Wisconsin; 25 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was a homemaker. She moved to Pierce City four years ago to make her home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in Dice Cemetery, Fairview, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

The family will receive friends from 8 a.m. Friday, until 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 25 in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
