Virginia Belle Preddy, 83, of Cassville, passed away Monday, May 28, 2007, in her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Pea Ridge, Ark., the daughter of John Quincie Adams and Charlottie (Harris) Carnes. She was united in marriage to Burl Reed, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 9, 1963, she married Robert Preddy, who died Aug. 23, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, J. C., Carl, Bennie and Cloe and three sisters, Gracie, Gladys and Ina.
survivors include: one son, Gary Preddy and his wife, Kristie, of Cassville; two step-sons, Bobby Preddy, of Albuquerque, N. M., and David Preddy and his wife, Ruth, of Cassville; three step-daughters, Roseann Wagner and her husband, Walt, of Sun City, Ariz., Janet Bell and her husband, Ralph, of Hartford City, Ind., and Sandra Hartley and her husband, Frank, of Cassville; five brothers, Bill, Melvin, Ray Dean, John and Lonnie; four sisters, Ona, Margaret, Rachel and Patsy; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She received her education in Pea Ridge, Ark. In 1941 she moved to Cassville where she lived for 66 years. She was a member of the Butterfield Baptist Church along with the Shady Grove Extension Club and the Women's Mission Union.
Funeral services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Horner Cemetery, Cassville.
