Pet was taken away from home

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Dear Editor:

I live on a highway that runs through Mark Twain National Forest. We that live here in this area can't keep pets around. Some may think it's due to "wild animals," but it is due to the "City Folks" that think that our pets are lost and don't stop to think that the house nearby could be the owners.

I just lost my Rottweiler who was heading back to the house through the woods and was picked up less than 30 yards from home. This is our pet's backyard.

I would like to let your readers know that if they see a pet on the side of the road don't be too concerned. There is always a house nearby. My dog was fat and had a brand new collar on with a reflector on it for safety. My Annie was taken from me.
