Jewell May Hall, 99, of Purdy, formerly Rocky Comfort, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007, in Red Rose Inn of Cassville.
She was born May 22, 1908, in Powell, the daughter of Milas and Margret Josephine (Boles) Jones. On Sept. 27, 1932, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Jimmie Rayburn Hall, who preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawrence and Leo; three sisters, Rosie, Jaunita and Susan; two sons-in-law, Cliff and Dale and four grandchildren.
Survivors include: three daughters, Margret Jones and her husband, Dennis, of Neosho, Barbara Norvell, of Purdy, and Betty Haynes and her husband, Melvin, of Wheaton; one brother, Clayton Jones, of Powell; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She received her education in the Fox Schoolhouse. She moved from Powell, to Rocky Comfort 60 years ago to make her home. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Ridgley Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. George Gore conducted the services.
