Stona Walter Farwell, II, 90, of Eagle Rock, passed away Monday, May 14, 2007, in Cox Monett Hospital, Monett.
He was born April 14, 1917, in Barry County, the son of Stona Walter and Mattie Lou (Pyatt) Farwell. In 1946 he was united in marriage to Martha Kathryn Hutchens, who preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Survivors include: three sons, Stona Walter Farwell, III and his wife, Gaylen of Cassville, Marshall Lee Farwell and his wife, Cherryl of Rogers, and Marvin E. Farwell and his wife, Jewel of Eagle Rock; a sister-in-law, Jewell Farwell of Eagle Rock; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He graduated from high school and continued his education at the School of the Ozarks. During the early 1940's he traveled across the country, working in Ohio, Illinois and Iowa at poultry factories. He then began doing construction work on Beaver Dam then the Lake area, while still farming. Walter was a member of the Roaring River Baptist Church.
Graveside services was Thursday at Roach Cemetery, Eagle Rock, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
