Burtis W. Tiggemann, 84, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, in Carroll County Nursing & Rehab Home, Berryville, Ark.

He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Columbia Bottoms, Mo., the son of Emil Herman Henry and Emilie (Paul) Tiggemann. On April 10, 1948 he was united in marriage to Veronica '─˙Ronnie'─¨ May Lubiewski, who survives.

survivors include: one daughter, Diana Lyn Snyder and her husband, Joe, of Liberty; one son, Bruce William Tiggemann and his wife, Lena, of Springfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He received his education at the Pea Ridge School in Columbia Bottoms. He raised cattle, hogs, chickens, as well as grain for a living. In 1984 he moved from St. Louis County, Missouri to Shell Knob to make his home. He was active in the Peace Lutheran Church where he served as an elder and usher. Funeral services were held Saturday in Peace Lutheran Church, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Brian Chisamore conducted the services. Burial was at Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.
