Jean Toddie Mitchell, 68, of Monett, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Cox Walnut Lawn, Springfield, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 1, 1939, in Sarcoxie, the daughter of the late William and Ethel Clarice (Pennington) Monroe.

She was retired from Juvenile Shoe and Bruners Pharmacy. She attended First Baptist Church in Monett. She married Larry Mitchell on Dec. 3, 1971, in Miami, Okla., and he survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Kevin Brasher, of Silver Springs, Md., Mike Mitchell, of Sarcoxie, and David Mitchell, of Joplin; one brother, Wayne Duke, of Roberts, Idaho; six sisters, Maxine Brashers, of Marionville, Janet Winsar, of Springfield, bonnie Merrick Barker, of Springfield, Evelyn M. Beck, of Ash Grove, Barbara McKinley, of Aurora, and Doris Duke, of Mt. Vernon; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her paretns, two brothers, Ronnie Duke and Harlan Duke, and two sisters, Lucille Stearns and Dixie Wallace.

Funeral services were held Friday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
