Sue Rhoads, 65, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007, at her home in Shell Knob.
She was born on July 14, 1941, in the Cross Hollows community near Jenkins, the daughter of roy and Gene Ennis Thomas. She moved to Shell Knob 30 years ago. She was a homemaker and a waitress at the Kozy Restaurant in Shell Knob for many years. She was very active in the Central Crossing Masonic Ladies and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Ladies; she was also a member of the Queen Esther Chapter of Eastern Star, Aurora.
She married Jim Rhoads on July 1, 1961, in Kansas City. He survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, David Rhoads, of Shell Knob; one daughter, Janette Stansbury and her husband, Rick, of Cassville; four grandchildren; one surrogate grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John Thomas, of Thornton, Colo.; and five sisters, Mary Lovell, of Edmond, Okla., Wilma Greek, of Washburn, Doris Rasa, of Lexington, Connie Gorges, of Wichita, Kan., and Margret Thomas, of Pueblo, Colo.;
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Rhoads, on March 28, 1977, and two sisters, Thelma Rhoads and Velma Plotner.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with Wayne Leer officiating. Burial will be at the Lake Park Memorial Gardens in Shell Knob.
Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
