Hazel Wormington, 90, of Monett, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Lacoba Nursing Home, Monett. She was born June 4, 1916, in Exeter, the daughter of the late James and Flossie Sapp Linebarger.
She worked at Purdy Farm Center and owned her own beauty shop in Purdy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy. She was also a member of the Lee Extension Club, Women s Missionary Union, Girls Auxiliary, and was a 4-H leader.
She married Ermol Wormington June 26, 1938, in Purdy and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Survivors include: one son, Mike Wormington, of Purdy; one daughter, Linda Pierce, of Purdy; one sister, Helen Bennett, of Purdy; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kermit and Eddy Linebarger and one sister Mary Gover.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Purdy with Rev. Tony Martin officiating. Burial was at Purdy Cemetery.
Arrangements were under direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
