Ethel Mary Chatham, 63, of Eagle Rock, (formerly of McHenry, Ill.), went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 22, 2007, while at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Mary was born on Sept. 4, 1943 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Philip and Elizabeth Clarke and raised in Pasadena, Calif. After attending the University of San Diego, she met and married Gerald Chatham. Mary and Jerry moved to the Midwest and made their home in McHenry, Ill., for 30 years where they lovingly raised their family. Mary spent many years as an educator at Prairie Grove School. After retiring to Eagle Rock. Mary spent much of her time enjoying the outdoors, being an active member and President of her local quilt guild and doting on her friends and family, especially her boys and grandsons.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Michael and Mark. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her sons: Brian and Craig, her grandsons: Miles and Colin and her brothers: Philip and John.

Visitation services will be held Friday, April 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Justen Funeral Home, 3519 West Elm Street (Rt. 120) McHenry, Ill. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 Bull Valley Road, McHenry, Ill. A local memorial service, hosted by Discovery Quilters will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 30 at the United Methodist Church in Shell Knob.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donation can be made to the Discovery Quilters of Shell Knob, an organization close to Mary's heart. The quilters will use these funds to purchase materials to make comfort and baby quilts. Donations may be sent to Mary Ryder, 409 Silver Bridge Lane, Kimberling City, MO 65686.

Mary touched the lives of so many people. For this, she will be forever loved and remembered. Paid
