Jean P. Hatheway, 91, of Cassville, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007, at St. John's Hospital - Cassville, following a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Middletown, N.Y., the daughter of Leslie Hill Prince and Kate Kenney Prince. She was a teacher and dean at the Northfield Mt. Hermon School in Northfield, Mass., the largest private school in the United States. She lived her adult life in several areas in the Northeast. She moved to cassville in January 2006.

She married Harvey Hatheway on June 23, 1938, in Middletown, N.Y. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1996.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kate Hatheway and Jeanette H. Murin and her husband, John, all of Cassville, and Melinde H. Kantor and her husband, Jeff, of Calais, Vt.; one sister, Elizabeth P. Allen, of Fair Haven, Vt.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Hatheway in 1988, and one sister, Pamela Prince Walter in 2006.
