Working to restore history

Thursday, April 12, 2007

(Photo)
Ted Roller, of Purdy, and Jack Fly, of Golden, worked last week to clear brush at the Packwood Cemetery northwest of Exeter. Both Roller and Fly are members of the Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society's Cemetery Restoration and Preservation Committee. In the photo above, Roller and Fly lift up a grave stone that had been broken off. The stone, which will eventually be reset, marks the grave site of Matilda and John W. Brattin, who died in 1904 and 1895 respectively. Democrat Photo
