Jerry Turner Azbill, 66, of Rocky Comfort, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007, in National Health Care in Joplin.

He was born Nov. 28, 1940, in Bellflower, Calif., the son of Turner H. and Virginia (Springer) Azbill. He was united in marriage to Donna McDermed and to this union four children were born. On May 1, 2004, he married Margarete (Free) Kelley, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Jon T. Azbill, of Grain Valley, Joseph D. Azbill and Justin P. Azbill, both of Kansas City; one daughter, Julie Renee Rogers, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a step-son, William Lynn Kelley, of Rocky Comfort; a step-daughter, Margarete Elizabeth Schurr, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, James Azbill, of Independence; one sister, Janice Woody, of Kansas City; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He received his education in the Kansas City area, where he spent most of his life. He served in the United States Marines. He was a self-employed salesman around Kansas City. In 2002 he moved to Rocky Comfort to make his home. He was a member of Stella Baptist Church.

Funeral services were Tuesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Glenn Ennis conducted the services. Burial was at Macedonia Cemetery, Stella.
