James Richard "Dick" McKee, 79 years, passed away at his home in Shell Knob on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, following a brief illness.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1927, in Mulvane, Kan., the son of James D. and Lois M. Davis McKee. He was a 1946 of Mulvane High School. He was a plumbing and heating contractor and owner/operator of Dick's Plumbing and Heating Company in Mulvane for several years before moving to Shell Knob 23 years ago. He was a Mason and member of the Mulvane #201 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge.

He married Marcella Knox on Dec. 6, 1947, in Wichita, Kan. She survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Mitchel McKee and his wife, Gina, of Derby, Kan., Merle McKee and his wife, Julie, and Monte McKee and his wife, Debra, all of Mulvane, Kan.; one daughter, Marla Neely and her husband, Jim, of Derby, Kan.; one daughter-in-law, Elnora McKee, of Mulvane, Kan.; one brother, Don McKee, of Mulvane, Kan.; one sister, Norma Yocom, of Bella Vista, Arka.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Michael Lynn McKee, in 1984, and one sister, Wilma Bray.

Burial was in Mulvane City Cemetery, Mulvane, Kan.

Local arrangements were under the direction of White Funeral Home, Cassville.
