Robert Joseph Dubuque, 78, of Shell Knob, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Mount Vernon Veterans' Home, Mount Vernon.
He was born May 21, 1928, in Jersey City, N. J., the son of Charles Joseph and Delina (LeMer) Dubuque. On Feb. 20, 1954, in Ellisville, he was united in marriage to Virginia Mae Sherfy, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Cecil Joseph "Joe" Dubuque and his wife, Cheryl, of Galena; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers.
He received his education in New Jersey where he attended a Catholic School. He entered the United States Navy during World War II on Dec. 11, 1945. Following his discharge in 1948, he served in the Air National Guard until 1951. He was a painter and carpenter for the State of Missouri on the Air National Guard Base. In 1984 he moved from St. Louis County, Ellisville, Missouri to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a greeter at the Central Crossing Senior Center in Shell Knob.
Funeral services were today (Wednesday) in the Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis conducted the services. Burial was at Fields Cemetery, Shell Knob.
