Vote Y.E.S.S. and support our kids

Thursday, March 29, 2007

Dear Editor:

This letter is in response to the no tax bond issue in Wheaton. I have seen a sign that states vote Y.E.S.S., which stands for Yes Enhances Student Success. Another sign says vote NO. That sign has two letters in it, and I have one letter for this group - "Y." What does NO stand for? Negative Opposition or No Opportunities?

We know what the Y.E.S.S. supports. First and foremost, our kids, their education and growth, safety and security and positive and brighter futures.

Wheaton School is fully accredited. Since January, music, art and business classes are all back and doing great with excellent teachers and tremendous student and school support.

I guess the NO regime does not support any of this; however, supports the ag building flooding last Tuesday and Friday mornings.

A lot of questions, along with some false allegations, are being raised if there is money left over from the no tax bond how will it be spent. There are a lot of projects and programs that can be upgraded and enhanced. For any questions or answers to gossip you can call for the truth at 417-652-3914 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What it boils down to is either you are against our kids or want them to fail or you have no school pride or spirit and do not support the school and want the community to slowly die and the school to close. If this is what you want, vote NO for No Opportunities.

On a brighter note, if you do support our children and want the best, safest school for them to succeed and grow in, you are a patriot and fan of our school. If you are looking forward to a positive future and want our community to grow and prosper, vote for Y.E.S.S.
