Robert E. "Bob" Williams, 78, of Exeter, passed away Friday, March 2, 2007, in St. John's Hospital, Cassville.
He was born July 6, 1928, in Exeter, the son of Hilsden and Annie (Mattingly) Williams. On July 29, 1950, in Exeter, he was united in marriage to Virginia Blalock, who preceded him in death on April 4, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Garry Williams; one brother, Billy Williams; two sisters, Dorothy Antle and Mary Jane Barker and a daughter-in-law, Linda Williams.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Williams and his wife, Beth, of Cassville; two brothers, John Williams and Mickey Williams, both of Exeter; two sisters, Betty Timmons and Billie Jean Higgs, both of Exeter; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He received his education at Exeter. He was a life-long resident of Exeter. During the Korean War, Bob was in the United States Army, serving from Nov. 7, 1950, until Aug. 9, 1952. He was employed with Barry County Farmers Coop delivering feed and spreading fertilizer several years.
Graveside services with military honors were held at Monday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jerry Nickle conducted the services.
