Mildred Louise "Lou" Tesmer, 85, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, in St. John's Hospital, Berryville, Ark.
She was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Grace (Greer) La Chappell. She was united in marriage to Elvin Halsey and to this union one daughter was born. He preceded her in death in 1979. On June 15, 1984, in Miami, Okla., she married Edward Tesmer, who died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Survivors include: one son, Don La Chappell and his wife, Joanne, of Clifton, Ill.; one daughter, Patricia Norman and her husband, Jim, of Shell Knob; three sisters, Ruth Johnson, of Dunlap, Iowa, Pearl Nahach, of Lebanon, and Grace La Chappell, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She received her education in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she graduated from High School. She spent much of her life in Omaha, Neb. In 1981 she moved to Shell Knob to make her home. She was a cook for the Star Lodge Retirement Home and the Kozy Restaurant in Shell Knob. She was a member of the Eagle Lodge #4155 in Shell Knob.
Memorial services were Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis conducted the services.
