Winfred Eugene Pugh, 83, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, in St. Peters. He was born on Aug. 4, 1923, to William Arthur Pugh and Bertha Pryor Pugh in Jasper County. At a young age he moved to Barry County along with his parents.
On May 10, 1944, Winfred married Nadine Weber, a marriage that would continue for nearly 63 years. To this union four sons were born.
Throughout his life of Christian service he, with his wife serving by his side, pastored churches in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi and Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Bertha Pugh, a brother Vergil Pugh, one grandson, and two daughters-in-law, Derry Pugh and Paula Pugh.
Survivors include: his wife Nadine Pugh, of St. Charles; four sons, Jerald and Enez Pugh, of Belleville, Ill, Garald and Cara Pugh, Carthage, David Pugh, of O'Fallon, and Dennis Pugh of St. Charles; one brother, Leroy and Loretta Pugh, of Vernon; 14 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Garald Pugh, Leroy Pugh, Steve Dillon and Jack Smith conducted the services. Burial was at Sparks Cemetery, Butterfield.
