Frank L. Jones, 83, of Shell Knob, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. He was born April 28, 1923, in Harrison, Ark.
He married Mary Lee Wasson on July 2, 1944, in Harrison, where Frank taught music and managed theaters for Commonwealth Amusement Corporation. Throughout his career in the movie business, he managed Commonwealth operations in Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Iowa, Wyoming, Texas and South Dakota.
After his retirement from the theater business, he was a bank-marketing consultant for three years. With his wife Mary by his side, he then spent three years volunteering at mobile Missions across the country and ran campgrounds for the Corps of Engineers in Missouri for 12 years.
He delivered meals to the Shell Knob area homebound. Volunteered at the L.U.C. Boys Ranch, served on the Board of Directors for Shell Knob Senior Citizens, and most recently was a member of the Barry County Tax Board.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Shrine Temple, and an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee; daughter Kay; son Frank Jr.; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Memorial services were Sunday in Trinity Presbyterian Church, Shell Knob the body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
