Rickie Long, age 51, of Butterfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, in St. Louis, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on Oct. 2, 1955, son of Jim Gertch and Nancy Albrandt Gertch, in Sterling, Colo. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Long was self employed and enjoyed working with his hands and being outdoors.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sarah Austin, of Fort Scott, Kan.; one grandson, Dayton Austin, of Forth Scott, Kan.; one brother, James Alexander and his wife, Jessica, of Butterfield; and five sisters, Michele Reyes, of Golden, Anita Armstrong, of Eagle Rock, Terry Woodward, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Laura Gertch and Lorraine Gertch, both of Denver, Colo.

Memorial services were held Friday at the White Funeral Home, Cassville, with Rev. Frank Navarro officiating, and burial was at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
