Marjorie Colleen (Blythe) Haddock, 84, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at her home in Marionville.
She was born Aug. 8, 1922, to John Cleveland and Celia (Hailey) Blythe, of Crane. She attended grade school at Scholten, then high school at Crane. She eventually earned a degree from Southwest Missouri State University in 1970, majoring in elementary eduction with a minor in social work.
She married Dale Haddock on Nov. 17, 1945, at the South National Church of Christ in Springfield and together they raised five children. She was an active member of the Church of Christ.
She taught school in Barry and Stone counties for 15 years. She worked social work for the state of Missouri for 10 years and as a nurse's aid for four years before retiring in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Carroll Cleveland Blythe, her husband Dale, a daughter, Joyce Helen (Haddock) Rose, a son, John Charles Haddock.
Survivors include; two sons, Daniel Earl Haddock and Glendale Hailey Haddock; one daughter, Nancy Sue (Haddock) Brandon; one sister, Helen Hester (Blythe) Stumpff; 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Aurora Church of Christ, Aurora, under the direction of Westrip Funeral Home, Crane. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
