He was born April 18, 1942, in Spring Hill, Kan., the son of Grant and Ena (Lewis) Cottrell, who preceded him in death.
survivors include: two sons, Donald Cottrell and his wife, Pam, of Harrisonville, and Robert Cottrell, of Harrisonville; one daughter, Bonnie Dean, of Urich; two brothers, Jim Cottrell of Collins, and David Cottrell, of Louisburg, Kan.; three sisters, Carolyn Marrs, of Cassville, Mary Whitton, of Kansas City, and Donna Jackson, of Magnolia, Texas; three granddaughters; and one great grandson.
He graduated from high school in Freeman. He was a Safety Engineer and worked most of his life in the Eastern United States. In 1998 he retired and moved from West Virginia to Cassville to make his home.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Bob Neeley conducted the services.
