MARIE MARBUT

Marie Marbut, 71, of Monett, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. She was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Purdy, the daughter of the late Charles and Willa Noras Baker Oscar.

She was a homemaker. She attended Christ United Methodist Church of Monett. She married Leon Marbut on Dec. 10, 1936, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1993.

survivors include: five sons, James Marbut, of Republic, John Marbut, of Monett, Jerry Marbut, of Monett, Bob Marbut, of Arlington, Texas, and Mike Marbut, of Victoria, Texas; one daughter, Pat Kirk, of Dallas, Texas, one brother, Joe Carlisle, of Cassville; one sister, Thelma Martin, of Arlington, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grand-children; and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Carlisle, Billy Carlisle and Paul Carlisle; two sisters, Ruby Horton and Helen Terry.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Rev. Ronnie Howerton officiated. Burial was at the Bethel Cemetery, south of Monett.
