Harold Wayne Ayers, 59, of Golden, was pronounced dead at 7:44 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at his home.
He was born on July 24, 1947, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Gilbert and Marian Davis Ayers. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He served on a gun ship during the Vietnam War and received a Distinguished Flying Cross. He moved to Golden in 1993 from California, and was a truck driver with Consolidated Freighters, Inc.
He married Mary Jill Dunning on Aug. 3, 1968, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She survives.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Dawn Marie Orcutt, and her husband, Scott, of Virginia City, Va.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Ayers, of Brandon, Miss., and Bob Ayers, of Gans, Okla.; and two sisters, Judy Rugger, of Oxford, Iowa, and Sharon Ayers, of Coralville, Iowa.
Committal service was held on Sunday, in West Liberty, Iowa.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
