Esther J. Eubanks, 87, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in Red Rose Inn, Cassville, after a short battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born May 20, 1919, in Garfield, Ark., the daughter of Charles Wesley and Dottie (Lowery) Reeves. In 1942, she was united in marriage to Richard Lee Eubanks, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three half-brothers, Russell, Robert and Martin Reeves and three half-sisters, Jessie Tiner, Edna Ames and Dorothy Wright.
survivors include: her three sons, Richard L. Eubanks Jr., of Elkridge, Md., Daniel L. Eubanks and his wife, Paquita, of Columbia, Md., and David A. Eubanks and his wife, Marlene, of Alvin, Texas.
She received her education in Garfield, Ark., where she graduated from high school. She then moved to Tulsa, Okla., where she was a beautician. Being the wife of an Army Air Corps/US Air Force MSgt., she accompanied her husband in his assignments around the world and lived in many exotic places like Japan, Philippines, and France. after her husband's death trained to be an Emergency Medical Tech and worked for the South Barry County Ambulance service for seven years. She also ran for public office and won the election as Director, District #4, South Barry County Ambulance District. She moved to Texas for nine years and returned to Cassville in 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Chris McCurley will conduct the services. Burial will be at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
