Gertrude Anna Endsley, 93, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at St. John's Hospital, Berryville, Ark.

She was born to Carl and Anna (Licke) Bredow near Volland, Kan., on March 7, 1913. She was united in marriage to Dallis C. Endsley in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She received her education in Alta Vista, Kan., and graduated from Strickler's Topeka Business College. She worked for the government for 32 years, first as an IRS agent and then as an S.B.A. loan officer. After retirement in 1972, she spent much time in traveling to more than 30 foreign countries and spent three and a half months at sea on a freighter.

Survivors include one son, Merle (Mel) Endsley and his wife, Barbara, of Shell Knob; three grandsons; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

She was a lifetime faithful member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Alta Vista, Kan., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Larry Brakenhoff will conduct the services. Burial will be at West Templin Cemetery, Alta Vista, Kan..
