Cleo Naaman White, 85, of Purdy, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in St. John's Regional Medical Center, Springfield.

He was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Texarkana, Ark., the son of Everett I. and Iva White. On Sept. 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lena Mae Fisher, who preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 1996, being blessed with fifty years together. To this union 12 children were born. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Travis White.

On Aug. 7, 2000, he married Lucille (Bozarth) White, who survives.

Additional survivors include: eight sons, Raymond White and Daniel White, both of Purdy, James White, of Springfield, Travis White, of Monett, Naaman White, of Springfield, Jerry White, and Ronnie White, both of Purdy, and Lonnie White, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five daughters, Iva Nelson, of Springfield, Imogene Renkoski, of Purdy, Virginia Dunlap, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Wanda England, of Wentworth, Missouri and Kristina Hayes, of Purdy; eight step-children, Kathy Martin, of Ravenden Springs, Ark., Leonard White, of Waynesville, Darrell White, of Doniphan, Wesley White, of McEwen, Tenn., Angela Ray, of Pocahontas, Ark., David White and Tena Pierce, both of Maynard, Ark., and Janice Henson, of Ravenden Springs, Ark.; two half-brothers, Dwight White of Fort Smith, Ark., and Charles Ray White, of Hardy Ark.; three half-sisters, Carolee Martin of Ash Flat, Ark., Lucille Morgan, of Hardy, Ark., and Charlene McBride, of Ft. Smith, Ark.; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

she moved from Arkansas and resided in the western part of the United States for awhile. During World War II, he was in the United States Navy, serving from July 16, 1943, until Feb. 5, 1946. He was employed with the railroad for awhile. For 22 years he worked for Union Stockyard as a cattle inspector, retiring in 1982.He was a member of New Freedom Worship Center, Purdy.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Joe Wogoman conducted the services. Burial with military honors were at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
