Joe Roller, 71, of Purdy, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. He was born July 2, 1935, in Purdy, the son of the late Loyd and Faye (Mackey) Roller.

He was a retired truck driver for Friend Tire. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He was chairman of deacons at the Arnhart Baptist Church in Purdy. He married Margaret Cook Dec. 22, 1955, in Purdy and she survives.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Rick Roller and Randy Roller, both of Purdy; one sister, Donna Sipe, of Purdy; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Roller.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Arnhart Baptist Church, Purdy, with Rev. Jarel Burnside, Rev. Jerry Williams and Rev. Lawrence Shuey officiating. Burial will be at Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home.
