EMMA JEAN BARNETT

Emma Jean Barnett, 88, of Monett, passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at her home. She was born Sept. 27, 1918, in Wheaton, the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Emma Gertrude (Barr) Autry.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett. She was also a member of the Monett Garden Club, the Dorcas Club and a former Boy Scout leader.

She married King Barnett on Feb. 17, 1935, in Hollister, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1995.

Survivors include; three sons, Richard P. Barnett, of Monett, James D. Barnett and Thomas K. Barnett, both of Springfield; two daughters, Rebecca J. Giboney, of Springfield and Virginia L. Peters, of Pierce City; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) at the IOOF Cemetery in Monett.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
