SYC grows because of community support

Friday, January 12, 2007

Dear Editor:

Christmas is over for another year, and once again Share Your Christmas was a great success. Almost 500 children had a good Christmas because of the generosity of the people living in Barry County.

The quality of the gifts was exceptional, as always, and because of the monetary donations, we will once again be able to sponsor the Back to School Fair and work with area schools to meet some of the needs throughout the year.

We want to especially thank the following: Cassville Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas; Area schools; Tau Eta Sorority; business and industries that set up toy trees; people who took ornaments and bought toys; people who donated money, all the way from large checks to change in the tins located around town; First Baptist Church for the baskets of cleaning supplies and for the use of the fellowship hall for distribution of clothing and baskets; Methodist Church for allowing us to sort, sack and distribute toys there again this year; American Legion for the food baskets; People who adopted families; OACAC employees for all of their hard work; Family Support Division; Ozark Country Quilters for the charming baby quilts they made and donated; people who gathered, sorted and distributed toys; and Dr. Herrin and the Animal Hospital.

We also want to thank the entire community who supported Share Your Christmas this year. We couldn't do it without your help.

Share Your Christmas gets better every year because of you. Thank you very much for your support and your generosity. We are looking forward to working with you again next year.
