Mary Jane Barker, 63, of Exeter, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, in Cox Monett Hospital, Monett.

She was born March 27, 1943, in Barry County, the daughter of Hilston and Annie (Mattingly) Williams. She was married to Mal Hudson and to this union one child was born. On June 9, 1987, she was united in marriage to Carl Barker, who survives. She is also survived by one son, Doug Hudson and his wife, Jill, of Wheaton; one stepson, Larry Barker and his wife, Laura, of St. Ann; four stepdaughters, Sue Coubaugh and her husband, Kenny, of Pierce City, Sharon Knapp and her husband, Bill, of Cassville, Debra Daniels and her husband, Bill, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Samantha Chappell and her husband, Dean, of Aurora; three brothers, Bob Williams, of Exeter, John Williams, of Purdy, and Mickey Williams, of Exeter; two sisters, Betty Timmons and Billie Jean Higgs, both of Exeter; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill and one sister, Dorothy.

she graduated from Exeter High School. She worked several years for Jumping Jack Shoes in Cassville and then for the Justin Boot Factory until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Contributions may be made to the Monett Hospital in her memory.
