On Dec. 18, the Cassville Ladycats traveled to Reeds Spring to get in one last game before Christmas break. The Ladycats, who were looking for their first road win, would get it by beating Reeds Spring soundly.
Cassville would start off hot, going on runs of 9-2 and 7-0 to give themselves a 20-9 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the Ladycats increased their lead spurting off another 9-2 run and giving them a 16-point lead at the half (33-17).
In the final two periods, Reeds Spring started to put it together and Cassville's hot shooting went cold. The Lady Wolves struck back with an 11-2 run in the third quarter that left the score at 37-28 in Cassville's favor. In the fourth quarter, Reeds Spring came as close as seven points, but Cassville pulled away and won 43-32.
The Ladycats were impressive in the first half showing great balance and wonderful defense, but in the second, the team had trouble with their balance and shot taking, which gave Reeds Spring the chance to get back in the game.
Cassville only turned the ball over 12 times in the game, but was outrebounded 26-17. The Ladycats also had a hard time from the line as they shot only 40 percent.
