June Frees Heavener, 86, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

She was born June 15, 1920, in Bethesda, Md., the daughter of John and Jessie (Newton) Frees. On Nov. 12, 1979, in Pleasantville, N. J., she was united in marriage to Arthur Agusta Heavener, who survives. Additional survivors include: two sons, Michael Iob and his wife, Nancy, of Green Valley, Ariz., and Jack Singletary and his wife, Roxanne, of Shell Knob; one stepson, Steve Heavener, of Green River, Wyo.; two stepdaughters, Geri Hahn and her husband, Mark, of Mountain Lake, N. J., and Lisa Graham and her husband, Jim, of West Milford, N. J.; one sister, Dorothy Whyte and her husband, Evans, of Forked River, N. J.; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She graduated in 1939 from the Atlantic City High School in New Jersey. She worked as a secretary for the Federal Aviation Agency in Pomona, N. J., until her retirement. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, a lifetime member and past Grand Matron of Friendship Chapter 173 Order of The Eastern Star in New Jersey and a National Member of the Republican Committee.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Burial will be at Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home.
