Ladycat softball awards program held

The 2006 Cassville High School Lady Wildcats Softball Awards Night was held on Oct. 30 in the CHS commons area.

A welcome and introductions was provided by Coach Bonnie Cox followed by a video presentation created by the CHS technology class.

Coach Cox recognized both the junior varsity and varsity squad members and then handed out individual awards. These award winners are highlighted below.

Highest batting average: Julie Cupps (.387).

Most RBIs: Brittany Vollenweider (14).

Golden Glove: Jessie Gripka (.964 fielding percentage).

Most Strike-outs: Brittany Vollenweider (138).

Ladycat Heart Award: Anna Rashe.

Rotary MVP: Jessie Gripka.

Players who participated in the softball program this fall are listed below. The asterisks after a name indicate the number of years an athlete has lettered in the sport.

Seniors: Julie Cupps**** and Jessie Gripka****.

Juniors: Tracy Dolis**, Brittney Gatley**, Gabby LeCompte** and Brittany Vollenweider**.

Sophomores: Ariell Abramovitz*, Courtney Beagle*, Dakota Bowman**, Andrea Coupland*, Jessica Meadows**, Chealsey Moore, Melissa Moore, Anna Rashe, Taylor Rowley and Morgan Still*.

Freshmen: Chelsea Krallman*, Devon Henderson, Kelsey Munoz, Bailey Staponski* and Mandi Thompson.

Cox also thanked Assistant Coach Randy Robertson, scorekeeper Gail Green and head groundskeeper Jerry Lyall.
