He was born July 12, 1940, at Jacket, to Frederick Edward Gundel and Ada May Duncan Gundel. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a dairy farmer for 37 years. he was a member of the Church of Christ in Pea Ridge, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Maurice Gundel and Edward Gundel; and two sisters, Marie Slane and Betty Slane.
Survivors include: his wife of 46 years, Sara Henbest Gundel, whom he married Sept. 6, 1960, at Bentonville, Ark.; one son, Joe Gundel and Sondra, of Seligman; one daughter, Cheryl Williams and Mark, of Bentonville, Ark.; one brother Bob Gundel, of Washburn; five sisters, Bonnie Slane, of Fremont, Ohio, Joy Cargile and Margie Banks, both of Pineville; Sue Dalton, of Washburn, and Sharon Weiser, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Pea Ridge Church of Christ with Malcolm Scott and Jack Garner officiating. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery, Pea Ridge, Ark.
