Gregory Gene Brooks, 45, of Cassville, was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, as the result of an automobile accident east of Cassville.
He was born on May 17, 1961, in Stella, the son of Royle and Lucille (Lester) Brooks. He was a lifelong resident of the Oak Ridge community and attended Cassville High School where he played football. He was a self-employed truck driver. He had attended the Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
He married Denise (Haddock) Vermillion on Jan. 30, 2003, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Amber Brooks, of Pineville, and Kala Brooks, of Purdy; two stepsons, Dustin Eagan and Matthew Vermillion, both of Washburn; his parents, Royle and Lucille Brooks, of Cassville; three grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Brooks, of Cassville; one sister, Linda Crumpler and her husband, Rex, of Cassville.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Blessing Heights Worship Center in Cassville with Pastor Doyle Russell and Pastor Jack Freeman officiating, with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
