Mother wants her baby bag returned

Thursday, October 12, 2006

Dear Editor:

People who don't go to church always say, "Well I don't go to church because people that go to church are hypocrites. They are only Christians from 10 to 12 on Sunday morning." I have always wondered why people would say this. And I have always known that church-goers were real true Christians and believed in doing what is right and having faith.

I, myself, don't go to church at the present time but was raised in a Catholic church all my childhood years. My 4-year-old goes to a preschool that is located in a church.

A few weeks ago, the preschool was celebrating Grandparents Day. My mother-in-law watches my 4-year-old and my 8-week-old baby. She had gone to Grandparents Day to celebrate the occasion, taking my 8-week-old with her. After leaving the event, my mother-in-law realized that she had forgotten the baby's diaper bag, full of cute outfits, formula, diapers, wipes, etc. Everything you need for a newborn. She had only been gone for about 20 minutes when she turned around and started back to the church/preschool not even worrying about if it would be there or not because of where it was located. When she got there, the diaper bag was gone.

The teacher and director helped my mother-in-law look for the diaper bag. It was nowhere in sight. Thinking that someone picked it up accidently and they would turn it in to the church, my mother-in-law wasn't too worried about it. Who would actually steal from a baby? At a church?

After telling me about it after I came home from work, I realized that his medical bracelet from the hospital was in there. I don't know about anyone else but that is a very wonderful keepsake for when your baby becomes an adult because it has the time of birth, date and doctor's name, along with the baby's name. It's been about four weeks and no one has turned the diaper bag in yet. This letter is to whoever it is that stole from my baby. Please, if you could just return the bracelet, that's the only thing that I would like back. It would mean the world to me, and I'm sure it would to my baby too.

If you could just mail it to the address below. Please whoever it was that took the bag, please I am begging you, have a heart.

Thank You,

Mandy Jones
