Dayton L. Swearingen, 75, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, in Red Rose Inn of Cassville.

He was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Purdy, the son of Walter and Alphia (Henderson) Swearingen. On Sept. 11, 1953, in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Barbara Adele Neeley who preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Galen Swearingen; a sister, Virginia Buntin and a grand-daughter, Sandy Swearingen.

Survivors include: four sons, Randy and Rick Swearingen, of Cassville, Gary Swearingen and his wife, Sara, of Cassville and Terry Swearingen and his wife, Debbie ,of Marionville; a daughter, Teresa Addison and her husband, Russ, of Cassville; a brother, Jerry Swearingen and his wife, Glenna, of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Wilma Davis, of Monett, Mildred Garret and her husband, George, of Purdy, Kay Allen and her husband, Jay, of Monett, and Marge Reihl of Monett; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He received his education in Purdy. He was a lifelong resident of the Cassville area where he raised registered Angus cattle and worked as a Supervisor for Armour Foods. He was a member of the Black Angus Association and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Saturday, at Horner Cemetery, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Bob Neeley conducted the services.
