Loren W. Rose, age 78, of Exeter, died . Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born on Nov.8, 1927, in Seligman, the son of Claude and Pearl Dent Rose. He was a lifelong resident of Barry County and was a 1946 graduate of Washburn High School. He was owner-operator of Rose Trucking, and was a past member of Exeter Lions Club and the Exeter School Board. He attended the Exeter Church of Christ.

He married Lois Snook on Jan. 9, 1951, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Randy Rose and his wife, Kelley, of Bentonville, Ark., and Steve Rose, of Exeter; one daughter, Rhonda Rowden and her husband, Roy, of Exeter; three granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters; one sister, Anna Campbell, of Pauls Valley, Okla.; and one aunt, Ledgia Campbell, of Marietta, Okla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, one grandson, and three brothers.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, with Ben Loudermilk, Minister, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
