The Cassville Ladycats dropped a pair of conference games this past week, falling to Lamar 17-25, 16-25 and to Aurora 8-25, 15-25.
In the Lamar game, which was played at home on Sept. 19, the Ladycats were led by senior Abby Munoz with six kills and one block and junior Katie Hynes with 12 digs, two aces and seven service points.
Other Cassville standouts were freshmen Olivia Cline and Marti Richmiller. Cline tallied five kills and one block, and Richmiller contributed two aces and seven service points.
Against Aurora, the Ladycats faced a very tough and experienced Lady Houn' Dawg squad. In that game, team leaders were: senior Chelsea Corn, three kills and three service points; Cline, eight assists; Hynes, two aces and three kills; and Munoz, one block and five digs.
The Cassville JV squad was able to pick up a win over Lamar in three games. The Ladycats dropped the first game 19-25 and then came back to defeat the Lady Tigers 25-17 and 28-26.
Airica Baker had eight kills and one block in the win while Emily Orrell and Stephanie Sizemore recorded 11 digs each. Belinda Long also had a strong match with eight assists, five aces and 14 service points.
The jayvee team also fell to Aurora by scores of 15-25, 5-25. In that game, team leaders were: Baker, one kill and one block; Natalie Cline, one kill; Shelbi Shipman, one kill, one ace and three service points; Orrell, six digs and one ace; Naomi Beck, six digs; and Long, two assists.
The Ladycats host Monett this Thursday and then travel to East Newton next Tuesday.
